David and Rachel Caldwell Historical Center

Authentic Early America
Stop and smell the flowers along a colonial path

The David and Rachel Caldwell Historical Center is located at 3211 W. Cornwallis Dr., bordered by Holden and Hobbs Roads. The surrounding Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden, a gift to the city in 1976, is filled with sculpture, native and exotic plants, and paths that follow a quiet stream. The lush Bog Garden is right across the road. The gardens around the Caldwell Center, a gift from Greensboro Beautiful, Inc. and the Greensboro Parks & Recreation Department, tell stories too. Each plant has a medicinal use from the roses to the hyssop. Wander the fragrant paths that lead you from the past to the present. Discover the shops and restaurants of Friendly Center.

Hours: Saturday 10 am - 5 pm
