DESCRIPTION:The Search for Blackbeard’s “Queen Anne’s Revenge”\nLindley S. Butler\, PhD\, UNC-Chapel Hill \nDr. Butler\, a senior North Carolina historian and past president of the Historical Society of North Carolina\, was engaged as a volunteer diver and served as historian of the “Queen Anne’s Revenge” Shipwreck Project from 1997-2017. This ship \, which was the flagship of the infamous pirate Blackbeard\, sank in the Beaufort Inlet in 1718.
