DESCRIPTION:Help celebrate 30 years of the Belle Meade Society with musician Andrew Finn Magill! He has built an international career on Irish\, bluegrass and old-time music. Join us as Magill presents an interactive lecture/performance\, exploring the relationships between the fiddle tunes of the British Isles and those of our Appalachian mountains. Andrew Finn Magill has been featured on PBS\, NPR\, TEDx and MTV-U. Finn is a Fulbright fellow\, North Carolina Arts Council fellow\, and South Arts Emerging Traditional Artist. \nHeavy hors d’oeuvres and fellowship will start at 6 pm. Elm Street at Kontoor and finishes along Lindsay St. in front of museum \n1:30-3:30 pm Lifted Voices: Greensboro Veterans. Drop by the museum and explore our exhibitions to listen to costumed interpreters sharing the history of veterans’ service in different conflicts from World War I to Desert Storm.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an easy\, 7.5 mile guided bike tour of sites connected to Greensboro’s veterans’ history. We’ll visit war memorials\, learn about military heroes Maj. George Preddy Jr. and Lt. Col. Robert L. Campbell\, and more. \nCheck-in starts 1:30 pm. Tour departs 2 pm and returns to museum by 4 pm.
