Bring Your History Lessons to Life

Traveling Trunks help students experience history in new ways while teaching them about important events and changes in Greensboro and North Carolina.

Trunks are free and available by the week. Simply reserve the trunk you want on our online booking system. You’ll be able to pick up the trunk at the museum on Friday or Saturday to return the following Thursday.

Frequently asked questions

: Trunks are available for teachers, school media specialists, club leaders, programmers from organizations, or similar in the following NC counties:

Alamance, Cabarrus, Caswell, Chatham, Cumberland, Davie, Davidson, Durham, Forsyth, Guilford, Harnett, Hoke, Iredell, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Orange, Person, Randolph, Rockingham, Rowan, Stanly, Stokes, Surry, Wake, Yadkin.
: Trunks are available at no cost.
: An individual may reserve an unlimited number of trunks for up to two consecutive weeks at a time.
: Trunks are picked up on Friday anytime 3-5 pm. They must be returned by the following Thursday by 4:30 pm. Pick-up and drop-off times may be adjusted if arranged ahead of time. Please contact Robyn Kramer at robyn.kramer@greensboro-nc.gov or 336-373-2948 for details.
