Democracy
Traveling Trunks

GHM’s newest Traveling Trunks support a need for resources to teach civics and government in area classrooms. Democracy Trunks give teachers and students tools to explore democratic ideals, principles, structures, and rights through hands-on interactives.

Trunk activities are built around GHM’s NC Democracy: Eleven Elections exhibition and correlated to NC Social Studies standards. Developed in consultation with local teachers and curriculum specialists, Democracy Trunks are adaptable for grades 2, 4, 5 and 8.

These education trunks are supported in part by North Carolina Humanities, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Additional support comes from the Women’s Professional Forum Foundation of Greensboro.
