Scholar and author Carolyn Karcher will discuss Albion Tourgee’s post-Civil War years in Greensboro as a reformer, legislator and judge, concluding with Tourgee’s major role on the legal team in Plessy v. Ferguson. Dr. Karcher shares the powerful and contemporary relevance of Tourgee’s advocacy for color-blind justice. Booksigning follows.
