The Search for Blackbeard’s “Queen Anne’s Revenge”

Dr. Butler, a senior North Carolina historian and past president of the Historical Society of North Carolina, was engaged as a volunteer diver and served as historian of the “Queen Anne’s Revenge” Shipwreck Project from 1997-2017. This ship , which was the flagship of the infamous pirate Blackbeard, sank in the Beaufort Inlet in 1718. So far, nearly 400,000 artifacts have been recovered by this project.
