Special guest speaker Christopher E. Hendricks, Professor of History at Georgia Southern University, will present “The Birth of Southern Cooking: Food, Politics, and Mary Randolph,” including a menu for a traditional Southern Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. Hendricks is an expert on Colonial and Early American history, particularly the development of backcountry towns in the Upper South and the Moravian community in North Carolina. Hendricks is the author of several books, including Old Southern Cookery and The Colonial Towns of Piedmont North Carolina.
We will also present the 2024 Voices of a City Awards.
