Sat. 4/26 1 pm- 3 pm
Youngsters and their families can drop by the museum from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, April 26 to celebrate World Veterinary Day and learn more about Greensboro’s own Dr. Alfreda Webb with a fun children’s craft.
Webb was one of the first two Black women to earn a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Tuskegee Institute in 1949 and served on the planning committee for the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. She served as a biology professor at North Carolina A&T State University from 1959-1978 and was the first Black woman to serve in the North Carolina legislature after the governor appointed her to a seat in 1972.
