May Day in the Historic Park

Saturday, May 2 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Greensboro History Museum

About this Event

Join us in the Mary Lynn Richardson Historic Park to celebrate colonial lifestyles and history.  Explore the museum’s historic eighteenth and nineteenth century buildings, immerse yourself in a Colonial Mystery game, see demonstrations, and learn more about the experiences of early North Carolinians in the Back Country. Joining the celebration are experts from the High Point Museum, Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, and the UNCG Archaeology Program. For a fully immersive experience, period-appropriate or festive May Day attire is encouraged for all ages.

All events are free. Sweet treats from the Scoop Zone food truck will be available for purchase.

In the event of inclement weather, the buildings in the Mary Lynn Richardson Historic Park will be open, though community organizations, children activities, and the May Day scavenger hunt will be moved indoors.

This program is organized and developed by Humanities at Work Interns working with the Greensboro History Museum.
