On July 3–4, 2018, photographer Tom Styrkowicz turned the museum lobby into a pop-up studio. He took portraits of more than 500 people. Assembled into a huge wall of faces, the photos created #onebyoneGSO, a big picture that makes you see the community – and connections between people – in a new way.
The project was funded by a SPARK grant from Action Greensboro and Downtown Greensboro Inc. GHM Inc., the Proximity Hotel, Systel Printing Services and Systel Business Equipment provided critical support.
The #onebyoneGSO community portrait will remain on display at the museum into September. Come by to see it in person!
