Reflections on the Life & Legacy of Bishop Frank M. Williams

Man looking over church pewLearn about the work of Greensboro religious leader and civil rights activist Bishop Frank McDaniel Williams (1940-1998). Founder of Greensboro’s OIC (Opportunities Industrialization Center) and local organizer for Dr. King’s 1968 Poor People’s Campaign, Williams was pastor at Mount Zion Baptist Church and New Jerusalem Cathedral and a tireless fighter for justice in Greensboro. Panelists including Florence Williams, Dr. Kevin A. Williams, and historian Euthenia Newman will reflect on his contributions to his congregations and to his city.

This program supports a new Community Voices display organized by New Jerusalem Cathedral in the museum lobby. The display will be on view from August 27 through September.
