Adjoining the museum’s National Register-listed main building, visitors can explore Mary Lynn Richardson Historic Park and the Historic First Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
This historic cemetery contains the graves of many prominent early residents, including former Governor John Motley Morehead. Among the stone-lined paths and comfortable benches in the garden-like setting, there are graves dating from 1831 to 1926, including the final resting place of veterans of the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Mexican-American War and Civil War.
