National Youth Summit
Join teens from across the nation to explore events from America’s past with the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

What Is the National Youth Summit?
Hosted by the National Museum of American History and Smithsonian Affiliates across the United States, the National Youth Summit brings middle and high school students together with scholars, teachers, policy experts, and activists in a national conversation about important events in America’s past that have relevance to the nation’s present and future. Previous years’ themes have includes Elections & Politics, Gender Equity, War on Poverty, Abolition, Japanese American Incarceration in World War II, the Dust Bowl and more.

Join the Youth Summit Teen Advisory Committee
The Greensboro History Museum is looking for teens to join the Youth Summit Teen Advisory Committee. The committee will work with GHM Education Staff to plan the 2025 National Youth Summit activities to take place here in Greensboro.

The committee meets every other Thursday starting July 31, 2025 from 5 to 6 pm at the Greensboro History Museum.

Each teen advisor receives one service hour for every meeting they attend. Plus, participation looks great on a resume!
