GREENSBORO, NC (April 1, 2025) The Greensboro History Museum is hosting “Southern Mix-er Community Day” from 1-4 pm, Saturday, April 5 at the museum, 130 Summit Ave. This free public program is a chance to discover Asian American stories from Greensboro and across North Carolina. Visitors can connect with local residents, enjoy free snacks and learn more about the UNC Asian American Center’s Southern Mix display in the museum lobby.

Southern Mix documents distinctive and powerful voices from Asian American communities around the Southeast through oral histories. Program attendees will have a chance to learn about the project and the UNC Asian American Center. Area residents from different Asian American communities will share their stories, and representatives will answer questions about local organizations including New Arrivals Institute, Pan-Asian Voices and Experiences (PAVE) NC, and Greensboro Triad Hindu Temple, among others. Snacks and organizational tables will be in the museum lobby starting at 1 pm, with presentations in Mary Norris Preyer Hall from 1:30-2:30 pm. The Southern Mix Community Voices display is on view in the museum lobby through June 1.

The Greensboro History Museum, an AAM-accredited Smithsonian Affiliate, is a division of the City of Greensboro Library Department and operates as a public-private partnership with the nonprofit GHM Inc.
