History Museum Celebrates May Day Traditions May 4

GREENSBORO, NC (April 30, 2025) Visitors can enjoy Traditions of the Triad: May Day from 2-7 pm, Sunday, May 4 at the Greensboro History Museum, 130 Summit Ave. May Day celebrations have long been a time for pageantry and parties in Greensboro. There will be colonial-era games, paper flower crafting to celebrate springtime and more.

Mary Lynn Richardson Historic Park (on the Museum grounds) will be open for tours and historic craft demonstrations. Guests can see what life was like in the 1700s while exploring the historic Isley and McNairy houses in the park.

Traditions of the Triad: May Day is taking place in coordination with Greensboro Food Truck Festival on Church Street, and all museum activities are free of charge. The museum building and exhibitions will be open for extended hours until 7 pm.
