Greensboro’s Industries of the Blind (IOB) has been providing work opportunities for people who are visually impaired since the Great Depression. Since 2020, a UNCG community art project has been calling attention to the voices of IOB workers with multi-sensorial installations on the IOB building on Gate City Boulevard. Richard Oliver, IOB’s Director of Community Outreach, joins Adam Carlin and Mariam Stephan of the UNCG College of Visual and Performing Arts to talk about this three-year effort.
